"It might be over soon." I honestly don't know what to say about this. Making this video was a rollercoaster. There were times where editing it went so smoothly & then there were uphill battles. That's probably due to the lull in their relationship this season. But I'm hoping that's going to change in the next episode. (Also, I've been mostly focused on Raven & Murphy soooo... Why does this show kill off all the best characters? Shows just aren't this good anymore. Now it's all PC propaganda and division. The real terrorists are not Muslims, they definitely aren't right wing. The only terrorists in this world are those who support the UN. In other words brainwashed leftists and the elites are all the real terrorists in this world.

    This, being…. just what the hell in seasons five and six? What did the writers intend to depict in the relationship between Carrie and Quinn, and how was that different than the fandom’s interpretation? Carrie love Quinn? they have been happy? Why did they kill Quinn not once, but ? And how could we have missed it-not once, but twice? And how has distance and perspective altered our answers to all of these questions? “The thing with Quinn and Carrie is, they really really like each other and are attracted to each other, now the thing is: that's not love? “... a lot of people confuse angst with love, I think Brody loved Carrie now boy was that the intense kind of love... Quinn’s love was pure and the real deal, unconditional love... too much for Carrie. It’s no question that Quinn loved Carrie more than she loved him. Maybe he even loved her too much. And certainly it was too much for Carrie in the short window of time they had. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Carrie didn’t love him. Carrie internalizes a lot and so we don not know for sure what she is or is not feeling. And I guess at this juncture, it’s up to each and every of us to choose what we can and want to believe and what not. I could build you a case with all the evidence why I think she did love him - now I could build you a case with all the evidence why she probably didn’t love him. And of course it’s hard not to compare Carrie’s and Brody’s relationship with what she and Quinn had or did not have. Now I don’t think it’s fair to either of these two men who both lived through a lot of torture and tragedy and carried a heavy burden.

  • @KRAKOA889
    @KRAKOA889 3 роки тому

    Carrie´s restrain reaction when Quinn died. when Brody died, Carrie climbed the fence, screamed his name, cried. She expressed herself. It's a super painful scene, heartbreaking and emotional. Even today, when I see that scene, I cry again. It is very sad. And it's sad because they were killing him and it was enormously sad because she was witnessing it and i was nothing she could do. NOW... Carrie was with Quinn when he died and she was shocked. I understand the impact. And it also strikes us as viewers (when I see the scene I cry with a sense of desperation, even now) but I don´t think it was the best choice on the part of Gansa. Neither narrative nor artistically. Because, in a way, it leaves the viewers out, and that is always a complicated thing, either when you’re telling a story but also, when you’re watching it. Beside the obvious storytelling similarities (Carrie is present for both deaths, and it’s the death of someone she’s in love with) there are also technical similarities. Both “The Star” and “America First” were directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and photographed by David Klein. However, the lead-up to the scenes is obviously different. Unlike with Quinn, both the audience and Carrie understand that Brody will die (even Brody knows this). Once Javadi says he’s been sentenced to death by hanging, we know what’s going to happen. The question then becomes just how devastating it will be. One of the most heart-wrenching shots of “The Star” is of Carrie walking up to the square when she first sights the crane and it dawns on her: this is how it will be. You have something similar in “America First,” not when she discovers Quinn’s dead, but before, when he tells her to get in the car. There is an understanding there, perhaps not that he’d die but that something important was about to happen. Both men also have a moment of resolve, too, right before the end. While Brody’s likely takes place minutes, if not hours before, Quinn’s takes place just seconds before. As he stares straight into the camera-and into a line of soldiers with weapons aimed squarely at him-he makes his decision. The music here builds up into a crescendo, and then for a moment it’s eerily quiet. The most obvious difference between the two scenes in this context is Carrie’s place in them. When Brody dies, she is literally forcing herself to watch-to look into his eyes, so he’s not alone. The camera shoots her straight on. When Quinn dies, he’s instructed her to “stay down,” to avert her eyes. As such the camera shoots Carrie from above or below, behind objects and around corners. Our view of her is as obscured as her view is of Quinn. And when she finds him slouched in the front seat, she can’t look, physically turning her head away. Carrie calls out Brody’s name so that in his final moments alive he can find her face in the crowd. So that he’s staring at her instead of a bloodthirsty crowd. He finds her, and they share a moment of recognition-of the end of whatever they shared between them: love, lust, obsession, any or none of above. It’s the exact moment Carrie is knocked from the fence that Brody takes his last breaths. When she pulls herself to her feet, he’s gone. Inside the car with Keane and Quinn, after the rush of commotion and bullet fire, it’s again silent. Just like Brody, he was there one second and gone the next. In both scenes there is something inaccessible between the audience and Carrie and between Carrie and either Brody or Quinn. In “The Star” we glimpse her from behind a chain-link fence. It’s what separates her from Brody and from us in the audience. In “America First” there is no real physical partition-you could argue it’s the boundary between front seat and back seat in the car-but the oft-discussed lack of touch between Carrie and Quinn after she sees him dead suggests this. Except for a rushed clutching of his arm in the very beginning, they stay curiously separate. In Tehran, once it was over, Carrie turned around and walked herself out, weaving through the screaming crowds. In New York, she retreats into the back seat, goes still and then silent as a crowd of pedestrians flocks to the carnage.

    The 3rd season did not correspond to the 1st and 2nd as it should be. Compared to most seasons it was weak, as the plot and plot issues that were overlooked or addressed briefly stood out in season 3. There was no "hunting" in Brody's scenes earlier in the season to make it look like he really was desired NOS. Where Roya Hammad and his terrorist partner Mister X... They were? We never received an explanation for the events surrounding how Brody's car was moved and his involvement, only what we got was the "real" author of the bomb at the CIA in a hotel that we must believe to be a super leap that changed the script. For such an investment in storytelling around Brody's family over the past 3 seasons, for him to just disappear the way he did, it was a waste of time - to make Dana's story worse, it was shallow. And all those scenes about Mike and Brody's wife continually in love with each other, and just ending up in season three were useless - and Brody's son disappeared. What about Brody's marine friends who thought he was part of the conspiracy? And Quinn's underutilization throughout the season after being instrumental in the beginning of the second season's premiere. All positive points, they should have made the homeland a show of this 3rd season and address every possible plot! Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave us, in Damian’s words, “two broken-winged birds sort of hobbling and circling around each other” in Carrie and Brody in such a compelling way that even though it really ended in tears, it was a GREAT RIDE as long as it lasted. And if you miss these two as much as we do, you may want to re-live the LOVE with Carrie and Brody: Was It Love? YES. Homeland had a sensible ending, closed all of Carrie's stories, while continuing the ongoing story of America's and Russia's rivalry. The series ends, but does not end, only better than that was seeing all these years incredible performances by Davis, Damian Lewis, Rupert Friend and Mandy Patinkin ...

    A beautifully paid tribute to one of the most underrated characters on the show. Noble Max has always been with Carrie, despite all his mania and drama. He loved Carrie & Farah, he was Peter's "manager" and a wonderful uncle for Franny. Such beautiful, genuine contrast between the glorious, heroic death of Haqqani and the random, humiliating one of Max. Heartbreaking, and also realistic. That was the worst! Next to Quinn and Brody of course. Neither one of them deserved their fates, Fara, Astrid and Ayan included. Personally I think Carrie should die in the end given all the close people she's gotten killed. A volcano of emotions character always willing to sacrifice herself for the country (and end up in Russian captivity among others) is definitely... She is like a black widow spider. She is dangerous, crazy and cause the death of most people, especialy men. Rest in peace, great Max. The 3rd season did not correspond to the 1st and 2nd as it should be. Compared to most seasons it was weak, as the plot and plot issues that were overlooked or addressed briefly stood out in season 3. Why did Farrah have to die?????! Max was originally supposed to die now someone convinced Alex Gansa it would be more impactful if Fara died. And we all know how that worked out for Max. We can say that Fara Sherazi (Nazanin Boniadi) was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Carrie, Brody, Saul, Quinnn, and Dar Adal, Astrid, Max, Virgil... It would be possible to clarify the following doubts: - Would you like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press? - Clearly, Javadi's ability to receive credit for Brody's capture helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder? - Was your name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you think. - Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. He ended up doing that scene ... why ?? Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and she succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else. Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was incredible, it will be one of the most memorable moments in the series, without a doubt! “And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see what you see in him. That happened. Everyone sees it through your eyes now ...” - How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see this? It's the world?

    What is backstory of why they made Carrie pregnant with Brody’s child? Thankfully I had the foresight to document this back in 2015 because I am no longer in possession of the actual reference material. Here’s one reason, from Alex Gansa (original post here Hell Yeah Homeland no Twitter: "About to post a Gansa quote, re: C/B S3, tell me if I'm mistaken: "Carrie feels that he's finally redeemed himself, and has finally proved +" / Twitter ) “Carrie feels that he’s finally redeemed himself, and has finally proven to everybody that he is actually the man she always thought he was,” Gansa says. “And the only way to get him out of this funk is to tell him the truth, that she’s carrying his child,” a seed that Gansa says had been planted in Episode 6, “Still Positive,” for this very purpose. My comment at this time, which I still stand by: Am I reading too much into this or is Gansa admitting that the reason Carrie was made pregnant at all is to provide context for Brody’s own man pain and self pity at the end of S3?? Because what the fuck? I wish I was surprised, but I’m not. At other points in the last few years I am 99.9999% positive Gansa has admitted that they had Carrie have the child to carry on Brody’s (her great love) memory in the show, which is why Franny has red hair.
